General Summary
This role is to analyse, develop and support the ongoing Next Generation Portal Project, this position requires both back-end and front-end development skills, in an Agile team driven environment
Organisational Relationships:
Communicate to project managers any problems or issues which should be brought to the attention of stakeholders.
Work within the project development team
Partner with International project teams
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this role include:
Analyse software requirements
Participate in software SCRUMs and meetings
Develop and Support bespoke application based on frameworks
Troubleshoot issues
Design/implement/execute correction for bugs that are raised and assigned
Document in line with best practices and standards
Liaise with stakeholders on application issues to ensure prompt resolution
Required Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Java / J2ee
- Xhtml / css / Javascript / AJAX
- Hibernate / Spring / Struts
- XML / XSLT
- Oracle Database
- Windows / Linux
- Proven development and integration in a web portal environment
- Experience in Agile Web Development
Desirable Skills:
XPath
Oracle PL/SQL
Linux administration
OSGI / JNI / Rio / Distributed Java Computing
Java Application Server configuration
Competencies:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong ability to proactively identify and resolve issues
Good time management skills
Willing to learn/expand knowledge
Demonstrable problem analysis/solving ability
Ability to work independently requiring little management support.
Educational level:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field desirable
Equivalent work experience may be substituted
