General Summary:
This role is to analyse, test and support the ongoing development streams, this position requires experience both web and back-end testing from a functional and non-functional perspective
Organisation Relationships:
Perform test analysis, create test cases and run tests
Keep track of bugs / software problems, and report on them if necessary
Communicate to project managers and development any issues / bugs that should be raised in priority
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this role include:
Analyse software testing requirements
Participate in software SCRUMs and meetings
Test bespoke and customised OTS web and non-web based products
Participate in the review, testing and deployment of the Oracle Retail application throughout the lifecycle
Troubleshoot issues
Raise bugs that are discovered and support development in there resolution
Document in line with best practices and standards
Liaise with managers on high priority issues to ensure prompt resolution
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Functional / Non-Functional testing
Web testing (xHTML / CSS / AJAX / Javascript)
SQL on Oracle and MySQL
Windows / Linux / Unix knowledge (log retrieval etc)
Proven testing experience
Experience with accessing production environments
Desirable Skills:
Selenium analysis and scripting
Fitnesse analysis and scripting
The Grinder analysis and scripting
Competencies:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong ability to proactively identify and resolve issues
Good time management skills
Willing to learn/expand knowledge
Demonstrable problem analysis/solving ability
Ability to work independently requiring little management support.
Educational level:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field desirable
Equivalent work experience may be substituted
