General Summary:
The Deployment and Integration Specialist is in charge of deploying and integrating new software as it comes out of QA, and configuring all parts of the environments to ensure optimal performance
Organisational Relationships:
Reports to the Deployment Manager (s)
Works within the Deployment, Integration and Operations team
Supports the business and technical account managers
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this role include:
Understanding of Java OR .net environments]
Performance Tuning / Installation / Deployment of Web Products
Manage Infrastructure components such as Apache, Squid (Reverse Proxying & Load Balancing)
WAN routing configuration
Datacenter Infrastructure technologies: Load balancing, firewalling, servers, storage
Specific knowledge in one of the following areas is desired:
TIBCO distributed architecture Integration
High Scalable Web Services with Contend Delivery Networks and Cloud Services
Advanced management of JVM for service based Java components (Rio / Terra Cotta / etc)
Required Qualifications
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
System Administration on Linux and Unix
Deployment in large scale / high traffic environments
Performance Tuning for Java or .Net
Oracle Database experience
Stakeholder support
Ability to write and understand complex SQL statements
Performance tuning
Desirable Skills:
Linux / Unix Administrations certifications
Understanding of WebServices / API from a caching perspective (RESTful, etc)
Competencies:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage stress and pressure inherent to application development, implementation and support
Good time management skills
Willing to learn/expand knowledge
Able to identify, analyze and resolve complex problems
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Educational level:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field desirable
Equivalent work experience may be substituted
